KITCHEN EXTENSION
Two ambitions shaped this space: a real connection with the south-facing garden and a generous family kitchen built for the long haul.
Expansive glazing and a covered outdoor dining area make the garden part of everyday life. Inside, garden-inspired colours bring a relaxed English elegance, creating a welcoming place to cook, gather and entertain.
Beauty and practicality work together throughout. A walk-in pantry keeps supporting appliances out of the main kitchen, while carefully planned storage, separate prep space and twin dishwashers make busy family life easier.
Extending this Grade II listed, 16th-century home required a sensitive approach. Working alongside an architect and specialist consultants, I coordinated professionals and tradespeople from the initial ideas through to completion, keeping the family’s needs and the character of the building at the heart of the design.
RIVERSIDE BEDROOM
A restful bedroom doesn’t always need a completely fresh start. Here, the existing feature wallpaper set the direction, with soft colours, fabrics and finishes layered around it to create a calm, cohesive retreat.
Working closely with a client who enjoyed taking a hands-on role, I developed mood boards and sample boards to show how each element would work together, giving them a clear direction and the confidence to bring the room to life.
I love my new bedroom! Henrietta listened carefully to what I wanted to try and achieve. She worked with me to plan the overall look and purpose of the room. Then expertly advised on the fabrics, colours and accessories, cleverly blending the things I wanted to keep with the new natural colours and textures. TV ROOM
Small room, big match days. This family TV room needed to accommodate gaming sessions and sport marathons while feeling just as considered as the rest of the home.
A bespoke window seat made the most of the compact layout, with beanbags and occasional chairs providing flexible seating that can move when plans—or numbers—change.
The result is a relaxed, adaptable space with room for everyone to settle in.
THE 'CLOFFICE'
Dressing room, storage and office: three needs, one considered space. Bespoke wardrobes provide generous storage and a dedicated dressing area, while the client’s existing office furniture fits naturally into the scheme, making the most of pieces they already owned.
A soft neutral palette brings calm to this multipurpose room, with rattan adding warmth and texture alongside the historic home’s original character.
MASTER ENSUITE
The challenge was as much about preservation as it was about transformation. Creating an en-suite within the master bedroom of this Grade II listed property meant adding everyday comfort while honouring the home’s historic character.
A Mediterranean-inspired scheme brings warmth, texture and a sense of quiet luxury. Bespoke sliding doors preserve the flow of natural light, while layered lighting provides clarity for daily routines and a softer glow in the evening; making the space work beautifully at every time of day.
WHITBY BEACH HOUSE
A coastal home with plenty of potential, ready for a fresh chapter. The brief for this five-floor Whitby townhouse was a subtle nautical scheme that felt timeless rather than themed.
With a compact footprint on each floor, the design needed to help the home feel spacious and connected. A palette of soft whites, blues and warm wood creates continuity, while artwork and soft furnishings add colour and personality. A new kitchen brings fresh style and everyday practicality.
From the interior scheme to the exterior colour refresh, I coordinated architects and tradespeople and helped navigate the necessary planning consent, bringing the details together so the client could enjoy a cohesive, welcoming home.
